Change Thrivers Tips
6 Steps to Creating Your Winning Approach
Choosing the game is about knowing how to bring options into your life. When you are facing adversity, take a moment to get clear about the part you play, and what you really want. Here is a quick guide of questions you can ask to move through the adversity and on with whatever you have been trying to achieve:
- What am I trying to achieve at this time?
- Which character is keeping me from performing at my best
- Rage Machine
- The Thinker
- Pity Partier
- Mr/s Needy
- Shipwreck Survivor
- Even though it may not be ‘good’ for me, what am I getting out of my current ‘attitude’ (e.g. being justified, staying in control, comfort/safety, etc.)?
- What is this ‘attitude’ costing you (e.g. enjoyment in my job; finally developing my skills; long term health; relationships; etc.)?
- If I keep it up…what intrinsic need is ultimately going unfulfilled(e.g. achievement, accuracy, applause, harmony)?
- What am I willing to do NOW to move forward?
